WINNING START FOR YOUNGSTERS AT DUNDEE

It was a good start for the Harriers U13 and U15 teams at the YDL League match in a sunny but very windy Dundee in the first of three matches which lead to the top two teams going onto the finals in Grangemouth in July.The Club won a close match scoring 629 Pts with Aberdeen in 2nd place with 615 Pts and the composite team of Team North in 3rd place on 489.5 Pts.It wasnt a good day for PBs but the star performer on the day was U15 thrower Katie Stark with a hat-trick of wins in the B string discus,A string shot putt and the A string hammer,she was helped with other good performances from Daniel Wilby winning the U15 boys shot putt and the discus,James Geddes winning the U15 boys high jump and 1500mtrs,Beth Maciver winning the U13 girls 75mtrs and 150 mtrs sprint double,Charlotte Hill winning the A string 1200 mtrs and B string 150 mtrs,Mary Flockhart winning the U15 discus and javelin and Maya Stewart-Riza winning B string high jump.Team managers Duncan Flockhart and Stephen Graham were absolutely delighted to start with a win in the re-vamped format which sets the team up nicely for the next meeting in Inverness in June it was a great team performance from everyone involved especially the athletes who filled in to do events that they wouldnt normally take part in and especially a big thanks to all the parents and coaches who travelled down to look after the athletes and to help officiate at the event.
