Some great performances by club athletes across the disciplines.

George Evans kept his tremendous form going with two victories at the Celtic Games held in Dublin on Saturday in Ireland for the Scottish U18 Youth team.  He opened up with victory in the shot putt with a throw of 16.41mtrs and then followed that up with another PB in the discus winning with a massive 53.85mtrs his coach Duncan Flockhart who is also making his debut as Scottish throws coach at the Celtic Games was absolutely delighted for him and the rich vein of form that he is in at the moment.

 

BEDFORD - England Combined Events championships - Andrew McFarlane continued his fantastic season with gold in the under 15 boys Octathlon.

Dyke 10k – The club successfully retained the team trophy at the Dyke 10k road race.  First club runner home in a PB of 36.12 was Jenny Bannerman, who with the back up of Tom MacWilliam, Tim Cooke and Sarah Liebnitz won the team prize.  Other club runers putting in strong performances were Gillian Grant, Caroline Marwick, Hugh Marwick, Jodie Lynch, Jackie Mair and Ben Fiddes. Strathpeffer Higland Games Hill Race – Catriona Fraser and Steve Worseley proudly wore the Gold and Maroon vest in a sea of Tartan clad Hill Runners at Saturdays Strathpeffer games Hill Race with Catriona first female across the line. well done guys.

Parkrun – Sean Chalmers stormed round the 3.3mile course in a stunning 15.47 just 9 seconds off Joe Symonds course record. Given the soggy conditions Seans time is quite exceptional. Donnie MacDonald shook off injury and with only 1 hours sleep managed to plod round in 16.43.

Best of luck to all the Clubs Athletes and officials who are making the early start and long journey to Kilmarnock for the u13/15 YDL Final.
