1-2-3 AT NAIRN – AND THE FINAL INDOOR REPORT

Michael O’Donnell (32:39), Graham Bee (32:42) and Gordon Lennox (33:29) took a clean sweep of the top three places in the men’s race at today’s (Sunday’s) Nairn 10K.
In the women’s race, which had no fewer than six runners under 40 minutes, Sarah Liebnitz was fourth in 38:53, Caroline Marwick seventh in 40:38 and Catriona Fraser 13th in 44:24.
This represented a clear win for the men’s team and – in absence of confirmation so far – a win for the women as well.
Other prominent finishers were Finlay MacLennan (35:42), Jonny MacLeod (36:20), Stuart Gardiner (37:38), Tim Cooke (37:57), Paul Miller (38:26) and among the women Heather Gardiner (45:22) and Jodi Sharpe (47:10).
It was a good day for the Gardiners since, apart from Heather’s and Stuart’s 10K performances, Eve was second in the girls’ 5K Fun Run where Lucas Cairns was first boy.

There has been a double gold for Julie Wilson in the V45 category at the Scottish Veterans’ Indoor championships in the 800 (2:32.90) and the 1500 (5:23.83).
There were near misses for multi event medals when Stephen MacKenzie (U17) and Rachel Johnstone (U15) both took fourth places. Both had personal bests including 6.45 for Stephen in the LJ and 1.41 for Rachel in the HJ.
