Weekend Round Up and look ahead to Inter District XC Championships

tr

The past weekend saw a good selection of performances from the clubs athletes.  Inverness Parkrun enjoyed it’s second highest attendance due in part to a social gathering of local club athletes. Donnie Macdonald just missed out to Gordon Lennox in the Mens event and Helen Gertig continued her great form by winning the Womens race.  Hugh Marwick marked a Parkrun milestone by competeing in his 100th event. There is a great report on the Parkrun Website http://www.parkrun.org.uk/inverness/news/

After the parkrun a squad of 45 runners from across the local clubs had a social run up to the mast.  It was a cracking turnout and a great inter club event which looks set to be repeated annually.

The Emirates in Glasgow saw the GAA Milers meeting incorporating the SA Indoor 3000m championships. Full details are available at http://www.scottishathletics.org.uk/muirs-2015-flying-start/. Jenny Bannerman, Stephen Mackay, Lauren Fraser and Arianne Ross all competed for the club.

This Saturday is a big day for a number of club athletes with a large North squad comprised mainly of IHAAC athletes making the journey to Edinburgh’s Holyrood Park for the Scottish Inter District XC Championships. Full details at http://www.scottishathletics.org.uk/scotland-field-xc-relay-teams/

Good luck to everyone competing. Remember to send your race reports, photos and any other info you would like on the website to invernessharriersphotos@yahoo.co.uk
