Weekend action across the disciplines for Harriers Athletes

HARRIERS-BANNER1.jpg

Good luck to all Gold and Maroon athletes this weekend with competition across the athletic disciplines. Kirsty Law travels to Russia to compete in the discus at the European Team championships. Bedford hosts the u20 and under 23 English AAA and a number of the clubs young athletes will be making the long trip south to compete. Whilst in Dundee a large contingent of the clubs youths will compete at the YDL.

Meanwhile, in a galaxy far far away from the comfort of the track, the Senior endurance athletes will take on one another over 50 miles of pain commonly known as the Highland Cross. Now in it’s 33rd year, the Cross has always been a favorite of the Harriers seniors group. Gordon Lennox, John Newsom, Graham Bee should feature high in the standings, however ex Harrier Joe Symonds will be a firm favorite to make it to Beauly first.

Sunday also sees a favorite local duathlon with the Nairnshire Challange attracting a large contingent of Senior Harriers. Some deranged individuals are even crazy enough to do the Cross and the Nairnshire!

Good luck and enjoy whatever you choose to do this weekend.
