Weekend Action

There was plenty of Gold and Maroon action this weekend with some outstanding performances across the disciplines.
First up was the Parkrun where Donnie MacDonald shook off his recent injury worries to scorch round the Bught Park in a sizzling 16.20 (Garmin suggests the course was actually 5125 metres so a sub 16 may have been on the cards). Donnie was delighted with his performance and after the race he told waiting journalists, “i’m delighted with my performance”
In readiness for the upcoming track and field league meeting it would be great to see a head to head between Donnie, Sean, Stephen and Gordie Lennox. Next Saturday guys?
Also competing over the 5K distance this weekend were Grant Hassan and Dean Cunningham who made the trip along the A95 to Aberlour. Dean is making a return from injury and was delighted to finish 2nd over the hilly course. Grant continued his good form taking 4th place.
Nairn was the stage on Sunday for a roasting hot race which saw a half dozen hardy harriers brave the 10 mile road race course. Paul Miller, Johnny Macrae, Tim Cooke, Andrew Gordon, Jodi Lynch and Alison Wilson all put in solid performances in punishing conditions. Results to follow.
