PBs slain in Tain but Nixon’s in pain again

Tain 10k again proved a happy hunting ground for Harriers with Sarah Liebnitz posting a PB on the way to winning the ladies race in 38.45. With Jackie Mair second and Catriona Fraser 3rd the podium was awash with gold and moroon vests. In the men’s race Gordie Lennox retained his title in a PB of 32.40 with Donnie MacDonald pushing all the way to also record a PB of 33.16. Donnie has been in great form since returning from injury and should be in fine form for his next track appearance over 5000 metres. With Stan Mackenzie 3rd and Paul Miller 4th the Tuesday night 350s look to be doing the trick. Tim Cooke also PB’d with 36.30 to finish 5th and with Jonny Macleod close behind in (you guessed it) a PB of 36.50. Also competing over the flat windy course were Alex Sutherland who yet again belied his 66 years with a seasons best over 10k. Tain 10k is famous for the individual Tain Pottery Mugs it presents as prizes to the 1st 5 finishers in both gender categories. The first Tain resident also receives one of the illustrious mugs. Ross Nixon failed to win a mug again. The End
