Parkrunners help make 1st Gothenburg Fundraising event a success
Early indications suggest over £1000 was raised today at the clubs first fundraising event for the forthcoming Gothenburg Trip. A massive thank you goes to everyone who attended in particular those who contributed home baking, donations for the stalls and prizes for the attractions.
A special mention and huge thank you goes to the Joggers and Parkrun-ers who really made a difference to the success of the coffee morning by coming en-masse after their Saturday morning session. Many thanks for the support guys.
The club still has 2 hoodies for auction autographed by Local Olympic Star Mhairi Spence. The first hoody is a London 2012 Pink age 9-10 and the other is a Blue London 2012 – 12 year old hoody. You can bid for these by emailing your bid to president@invernessharriers.org.uk - bids close at midday on Saturday 18th May
Whilst todays Coffee Morning and Car boot sale was well attended, the club really needs everyone who was unable to make today’s event to make a real effort to support one of the upcoming fundraisers. Details are below, please make every effort to contribute and participate, the clubs success is reliant on your support.
UPCOMING EVENTS
SATURDAY 11TH MAY – “PENNY MILE” RUN
EASTGATE CENTRE, 9AM – 5PM
The Penny Mile is an event where the target is to get enough money, that when placed end to end, will cover the distance of 1 mile. Club members will be running on a treadmill in the centre and donations will be collected on the day. All club members are urged to come along to support, participate and donate.
SATURDAY 25TH MAY – ADULTS CEILIDH DANCE – TICKETS NOW ON SALE
CROY HALL 7PM TILL LATE
This event is only £10 a ticket which includes hot food and entertainment. The function is “BYOB” (bring your own bottle) and is sure to be a brilliant night. Tickets are available from Keith Geddes or Duncan Flockhart. There will be a grand raffle and any donations of prizes are very welcome.
SUPERMARKET BAG PACKING – 2ND JUNE – ALL DAY EVENT
The club will be assisting by doing bag packing at Tesco Extra at the Retail Park and this is a great opportunity to make the final push to raise funds for Gothenburg. Please help out if you can
