North District Track & Field Championships

There were some excellent Harriers performances yesterday at Queens Park athletics stadium for the North District Championships. Its wasn’t just the competition that was hot, the sun was unrelenting and the head wind on the home straight was strong at times but despite this plenty of titles and PBs were had by the gold & maroons. Wins from the girls came in the form of Josie Steele 3.92m (long jump u14) & 22.98m (discus u14). Gillian Gordon 27.19 (200m u16) & 42.09 (300m u16), Mary Flockhart 29.93m (u16 javelin), Alison Horne 10.38m (shot putt u16), Natalie Macdonald 13.91 (100m u18), Heather Campbell 2.25.62 (800m u18), Ailie Rodgers 13.85 (100m u20), Anna Nelson 16.49 (100m hurdles u20) 65.35 (400m hurdles & 1.60m ( high jump u20), Eleanor Briggs 4.73m (long jump) 13.00 (100m) & 26.79 (200m), Rachael Mackenzie 1.71m (high jump) & 10.63m (triple jump), Jenny Bannerman 4.50.68 (1500m).

The boys were not to be outdone with wins from Joe Arnaud 2.29.70 (800m u14), Alex Geddes 31.85m (discus u14), Andrew McFarlane 1.53m (high jump u14) 38.07m (javelin u14) & 10.39m (shot putt u14), Alasdair Stark 12.39 (100m u16), George Evans 47.72m (discus u16) & 15.54m (shot putt u16), Alexander Nicholson 6.00m (long jump u16), Daniel McFarlane 2.50m (pole vault u16), Andrew Smith 24.74 (200m u18), Harry Barton 53.30 (400m u18), Bruce Flockhart 35.33m (discus u18) 32.28m (hammer u18) & 11.64m (shot putt u18), Christopher Molison 12.27m (u18 triple jump), Ross Fraser 12.25 (100m u20), Alexander Thorpe 4.42.72 (1500m u20), Sean Chalmers 1.57.22 (800m u20), Craig Cameron 6.01m (long jump u20), Sam Freck 11.74 (100m) & 23.99 (200m), Donnie Macdonald 16.10.19 (5000m), Derek Glasgow 1.45m (high jump) 2.60m (long jump) & 2.60m (pole vault), Adam Hobson 47.77m (javelin).

A massive medal haul by the club and a well organised event on our home turf. Well done folks!
