NORTH DISTRICT CHAMPIONSHIPS (NON-TRACK)

We have been unsuccessful in our bid to host the district hill championship at Craig Dunain on March 18th. This will once again be held at Knockfarrel in November.
The other venues are: 10K – Castle of Mey in May; 10 miles – Lossiemouth in December; Half Marathon – Isle of Skye in June.

NOTE – do not assume that because the half marathon is on Skye, this will be a small rural race where you can just turn up regardless. They are just about to announce a significant local sponsorship and anticipate 1000 runners. The organiser is also on record as saying that they are “on course to sell out on the race by the end of April or early May” (in other words up to six weeks before the race).
This would appear to imply an entry limit. Please remember that the benefits of SAL membership do NOT include guaranteed entry to all SAL permitted events – even if they are SAL district championships.
I am aware that there is a risk of losing your entry fee if you enter a race too early and then get injured but on the other side of the coin, in order to run at all it may be necessary to enter in good time.
