News roundup and weekend action

HARRIERS BANNER

The club were deeply saddened by the passing of George Mitchell.  The funeral will take place at the Kilvean Crematorium on Friday 19th at 2.30pm.

Last weekend saw some fantastic performances with Donnie MacDonald and Sarah Liebnitz taking the North 10k titles at Golspie  and Jenny Bannerman taking a massive PB (35.37) at the Stirling 10k.

There are very few racing opportunities this weekend but some club members are making the journey to Sligathin on the Isle of Skye for the Highland Hospice Skyes the Limit Duathlon.

Inverness Parkrun will provide an opportunity to blow the cob webs away and prepare athletes for the arrival of the cross country season in 2 weeks time.

Next Sunday sees the return of the Baxters festival of running with club athletes competing in the Marathon, 10k and 5k races.  There should be a good battle and plenty gold and maroon vest particularly in the 10k.

The clubs AGM will take place next Friday at 7pm sharp at Millburn Academy.  All club members are invited to attend.

Charlie Bannerman has completed his book on the history of the club “Maroon and Gold” will be available at £8 a copy at the AGM and from selected retailers thereafter. This book is the culmination of years of research and is a must for any club member past or present.
