Kinmylies Club Handicap Race

t was a chilly and slippy day for the latest Junior Club Handicap Race over the Kinmylies course but twenty hardened youngsters braved the elements to run some great times.In the girls race it was Beth Maciver who took the honours in 9.57 mins just ahead of Eilidh Magill in 2nd with 10.00 mins and Josie Steele taking 3rd in 10.15 mins in a close race which saw all the girls finish within 67 secs of each other,the fastest scratch time went to Josie Steele in an impressive 8.54 mins considering the conditions.

In the boys race it was youngster Matt Macfarlane who managed to keep the pack at bay with a winning margin of 35 secs to win in a time of 10.33 mins with Cameron Macintosh taking 2nd in 11.08 mins with Alex Geddes taking a close 3rd place in 11.17 mins to help maintain his lead in the handicap points table(points table on our website soon),the fastest boys scratch time was done by James Geddes in 7.49 mins just ahead of Gregor Maclennan in 7.52 mins with Craig Wilson being 3rd fastest in 8.23 mins.

A big thankyou to all the parents for helping out as marshalls on the course,to Mary Payne,Janis Wilby and Grant Nairn for time keeping and to the ladies for making the teas.Thats the last handicap till the new year with the Club Relays taking part on the Sunday the 16th December with registration at 1pm,all welcome to take part from club members to parents,sisters,brothers and club coaches.
