Fantastic to see over 50 Gold and Maroon vests on display today at Inverness Half Marathon and 5k – 27 seniors on the 13.1 course and more than 25 juniors (plus a few seniors) in the 5k. Well done each and every one of you!

In the 5k, strong performances from all the juniors – Ben J, Stuart, Lucas, Lachlan, Duncan, Angus, Ben S, Grant, Gregor, Finn, Euan, Alasdair, Emily, Rebecca, Eve, Grace, Zoe, Anna, Sophie, Ailsa, Caitlin, Ruby, Loren, Ruth, and Beth (plus anyone we may have missed wearing football or school colours who wasn’t so easy to spot). Also well done to Tony (2nd overall), Ian, Fiona and Lorna, our hardy seniors mixing it up with the speedy youngsters in the short race!

The Half Marathon saw a continuous stream of Harriers race through the streets of Inverness, with a win for the men’s team, and Sarah 4th and Caroline 12th in a competitive ladies race. Full results: Gordon Lennox (1.12.23), Michael O’Donnell (1.12.47), Graham Bee (1.13.58), Jonny Macleod (1.22.05), Tim Cooke (1.22.46), Sarah Liebnitz (1.22.52), Kenny Steele (1.23.34), Derek Mackenzie (1.24.22), Ross Cairns (1.25.37), Adam Crawford (1.27.47), Graham Laing (1.28.28), Stewart Wilson (1.28.28), David Cullen (1.29.17), Caroline Marwick (1.29.50), Andrew Beaton (1.34.03), Paul Miller (1.35.51), Ian Thomson (1.37.50), Gary Reid (1.38.30), David Waudby-West (1.38.33), Timothy Kirk (1.43.39), John Macleod (1.44.00), Carrie Farnell (1.51.59), Judith Colligan (1.52.23), Joanna Cairns (2.06.57), Lorna Reid (2.13.24), Ilona Warburton (2.27.01). A special mention also to Sylvia who took ill out on the course today after a determined 7 miles – Sylvia is a stalwart of our joggers group and an inspiration for many of us so we hope it won’t be long before she is back in action.

Thanks also to all the Harriers who showed their support today from volunteering and marshalling at the event, getting out on the course to cheer and take photographs, through to parents helping gather junior kit from the start and getting it to them at the finish line – it all makes a real difference.
