IMPORTANT INFORMATION FROM COMMITTEE MEETING – 9.1.16.

This information refers to the MEN’S LEAGUE, the UNDER 11 GROUP and NATIONAL CROSS COUNTRY CHAMPIONSHIP ENTRIES.

MEN’S LEAGUE – there appears to have been a rumour circulating that our place in this summer’s Men’s League was in doubt after team managers Eoghan MacNamara and Sam Freck stood down. This has never been an issue and the committee has put in place arrangements for team selection, match day administration and officials.
All we therefore need are athletes! As far as we are aware the dates are 6th May, 11th June, 9th July and 13th August. Athletes are invited to indicate their availability to Dianne Chisholm, club secretary, at gartally9@aol.com
The committee has also asked me to express the club’s thanks to Eoghan and Sam for their years of excellent work in this league.

UNDER 11 GROUP – the committee is pleased to announce that this group will resume on THURSDAY evenings at 7pm, starting on THURSDAY 19TH JANUARY. Two new coaches have been identified and we are in the process of processing the necessary documentation. The change back to Thursdays is because of coach availability.

CROSS COUNTRY CHAMPIONSHIP ENTRIES – entries for the National Vets’ championships close on Monday 16th January and Julie Wilson has sent forms away for 10 women runners. We have not been able to centralise the men’s entries so the men are asked to make theirs individually.
We will soon also be taking entries for the main SCOTTISH NATIONAL championships in Falkirk on 25th February and aim to have this process complete by early February.
PLEASE NOTE THAT IF YOU WANT TO ENTER THESE CHAMPIONSHIPS THROUGH THE CLUB YOU MUST HAND YOUR ENTRY FEE TO THE DESIGNATED PERSON BY THE DESIGNATED DATE. NO FEE… NO ENTRY – THIS IS THE CLUB’S POLICY FOR ALL CROSS COUNTRY CHAMPIONSHIPS, DISTRICT AND NATIONAL, FROM NOW ON.
Details of fees, designated persons and designated dates will be advised soon. For U13, 15 and 17 athletes, the designated person is likely to be your coach while for U20s and Seniors it will probably be a senior athlete yet to be identified.
