Today saw Elgin AAC host their 4th annual Multi-Mini Meet at their Morriston Park track in Elgin. Four young Harriers headed through to take part in this friendly, informal multi-event competition and it proved a successful trip for them all.

The competition saw athletes compete in three events (either 2 track and 1 field, or 1 track and 2 field) from the range of 100m, 200m, 800m, shot putt, long jump and high jump. While the competition is a relaxed, friendly event, there were medals up for grabs, and the young gold and maroon returned with a nice wee haul. In the U11 girls there was a clean sweep of the places, with Grace Macdonald in 3rd, Zoe Sharpe in 2nd and Stroma Fraser picking up the 1st place medal and plaque. The fourth athlete in the group, Mhairi Nairn, competed in the U15 girls section, and took 1st place.

This was an excellent wee meet and the athletes, and their backroom teams, all had a great time in the glorious sunshine. Many thanks to Michael Archibald and his fellow officials and club members for their hospitality and a cracking day out.
