COMMITTEE FEEDBACK

The new club committee met tonight (Oct 3) and here are a number of items of information for members and parents.

COACHING AND RECRUITMENT – reallocation of junior coaching groups will take place tomorrow night (Tuesday 4 Oct) apart from the under 11 group where information will be given at their session on Wednesday, with changes taking place on Thursday. This will involve all athletes born BEFORE 1st SEPTEMBER 2006 moving into the under 13 group which mee…ts on both Tuesdays and Thursdays at 7pm. Coaching at under 11, under 13 and under 15 levels (ages as at 1st September 2017) now operates strictly on an age group basis. Progress to more specialised groups is on an individual basis thereafter.
We are now inviting prospective new members to fill the vacancies in the U11 group created by these upward moves. This is open to those born after 31st August 2006. Training is at the Queens Park on Wednesdays at 7pm.

SOCIAL EVENINGS – we have three coming up. The club’s annual (adult!) Christmas function takes place in the Caley Thistle Social Club in Greig St on Saturday 17th December. Price (inc buffet) £10.
On 26th November the Challengers disability group holds a fundraising function in the Craigmonie Hotel. Tickets also £10.
And, probably between Christmas and New Year, there will be a Christmas party for our junior athletes. (Date and venue to be confirmed). £5.

KIT ADMINISTRATOR – Laurie MacIver has stood down after doing a great job administering the sale of club kit. The committee urgently needs to replace her and anyone interested should contact Dianne Chisholm, club secretary at – gartally9@aol.com

CLUB HANDICAP – this is another reminder that the first club handicap of the winter is on Sunday October 16th. There is a short race (1.2 miles) for juniors and a 4.2 mile road race for others. Runners start at different times according to how fast they are so this is suitable for all abilities and we usually get very close finishes.
Please support this backbone of the winter season. Entries are at the Queens Park from 1:00 – 1:30pm. The short races start as soon as possible thereafter and the longer race usually around 2pm or shortly afterwards.
