UPDATED – Club Handicap Race 2 – Craig Dunain/Charleston Junior and Senior Results

craig dunain handicap 2013

There was a great turnout of runners for the latest race in the Clubs winter Handicap Series which took place in and around Charleston and the paths around Craig Dunain.  Conditions were absolutely perfect for all races with clear skies and no wind.

Junior results can be found HERE and there is a great series of photos taken by Andy Shepherd available on the clubs Flickr Page CLICK HERE

The Senior race (results here) was a great battle with some of the closest and most accurate handicapping in recent memory.  Kenny Steel ensured himself a hefty handicap cut for remainder of the season, romping in to win ahead of Ann Smart.  There was an interesting battle for 3rd place with Jenny Bannerman, Jonny Macleod, Tom McWilliam and Ross Nixon all setting off within 17 seconds of each other.  Nixon managed to push on at the top of Nurses Brae but had to hold off a late surge by Steve Worseley to take 3rd.  There was a great turnout of seniors and it was great to see a long line of Gold and Maroon racing in along the A82 all within a few metres of each other.  It would be great to see an even bigger turnout for the next race which is the Kinmylies Handicap which takes place on Sunday 8th December.

Thanks again to all the volunteers and time keepers who make the event such a success.
