Bumper parkrun turnout

The turnout for the 100th Inverness parkrun exceeded all expectations, with a total of 207 runners completing the course in glorious weather. Harriers, both senior and junior, featured throughout the field. A request for runners to wear club vests if possible resulted in some venerable specimens being unearthed.

Craig Campbell finished second (to Gordon Lennox) and Sarah Leibnitz was first lady. Most of the volunteer team on the day consisted of Harriers, with two extra volunteer posts being created for the occasion – piper (Christopher Fife) and official photographer (Andy Shepherd).

After the event, in a packed Floral Hall, a celebratory cake was cut and distributed, spot prizes were awarded and tribute was paid to Billy Skinner for his unstinting support of the event and to Paul Crowe and Tim Cooke for getting it off the ground.

Andy’s photos can be seen in the gallery.
