MacDonald is Lovin’ it at Parkrun

Despite the soft conditions around the Bught Park, Donnie MacDonald showed the form that has taken him to the top of the current North XC Standings by beating the Parkrun course record held by the clubs Scottish U20 Internationalist Sean Chalmbers.
With Donnie not yet qualifying for todays Masters XC race in Forres (no seriously) the 34 year old took the opportunity to stay sharp for next weeks final North XC event by charging round the 5.1k grass course in 16mins 44 secs knocking 5 secs off the previous record.
Interviewed shortly after the event Donnie said “I wasn’t meant to be running as I was going away to watch Little Mix in concert but I put that on hold to stay sharp for next weeks final cross country race. I’m delighted that I came through today as that is the sharpest i’ve felt since the last time I felt that sharp”. Great effort Donnie.
