Harriers soar at Edderton Cross Country

It was a great day for the club today at Edderton Cross Country which was the 4th Match in the Run4It North District league. Credit to East Sutherland for a great but testing course and some cracking organisation. There was some brilliant performances in the age group races.
In the Mens Senior race Donnie Macdonald pulled off the performance of his running career by winning the race and leading the Harriers senior mens team to their first XC league win in many years. Second in was Andy Macrae with his best ever finish in 3rd making a fantastic comeback after picking up some ankle ligament damage at the start of the winter. The ever improving Dean Cunningham finished 6th with Ross Nixon in the 4th counter in 10th. The encyclopedic brain of Charlie Bannerman cannot recall the last time a senior man recorded a victory nor when the mens team won a XC fixture. Well done Guys.
The female seniors again tasted victory in the team race which will give them confidence for the upcoming Scottish Masters XC in February. Although it was the young Mhairi Maclennan who shone with and fantastic 2nd place finish. It was backed up with Roma Shepherd in 6th and Julie Wilson in 10th.
Sean Chalmers continued his stellar form with a comfortable win in the U17 race by a massive margin with Finlay Maclennan in 3rd. Heather Campbell was the sole Inverness representive in the U17 ladies race but came home strongly in 2rd place. Some other excellent performance came with wins for Lauren Fraser(u15 girls) and Joe Arnaud(u13 boys). Well done Inverness.
