Harriers Field Strong Teams in XC

It was a fantastic turnout from the “Golden ones” this weekend for our home XC fixture in Inverness. The winter sun warmed the Culloden stubble field which set the scene on our slightly controversial course. Like marmite it was either loved or hated by most with very few passive opinions. But never the less some stunning individual and team performances were to be had and it turned out to be a well organised and marshalled event we can all be proud off.

The winning kicked off in the U11 boys with a team win where Daniel Johnstone took the individual win. Their female counterparts finished 2nd with Ceitidh Magill the top counter finishing 3rd. The U13 girls also took a team win with Josie Steel top counter in 4th. In the U13 boys, they managed 2nd with Joe Arnaud winning by 7sec. Lauren Fraser took top spot in the U15 girls with Arianne Ross runner up in the U17s. The U15 boys took the win with Scott lisle 2nd and the U17 race was won comfortably and in emphatic style by Sean Chalmers. In the Seniors the Mens team managed 2nd but the ladies continued to win in the second fixture with Mhairi MacLennan having a fine run to finish top club counter in 3rd.

Great to see so many support the race and thank you to everyone who helped with set up and the running of the event and all those who brought food and refreshments for afterward.

The next fixture is in Elgin on the 17th of November. See you all there.
