HARRIERS SUCCESS AT PETROFAC FINAL

It was a successful end of season where over 90 athletes and officials travelled to Aberdeen to take part in the Petrofac final with the Club taking home 5 of the 12 age groups trophies with success in the U10 Boys,U14 Girls,U16 Boys,U16 Girls and the Senior Women with also a runner up spot in the U14 Boys section who narrowly missed 1st place by a point,there were league records set in the final from Fiona Flockhart for the U12 Girls in the javelin throwing 22.52m which also earned her the female field performance of the day,Alison Horne set a new U16 girls shot putt record with 10.88m and Alex Geddes added the U14 Boys discus record with 30.47m to his shot putt record set in an earlier Petrofac meeting.
There were some great performances with the U16 sprinters winning both boys and girls 100m sprints,Stephen Mackay set a PB in the senior 800m with 1.55.03sec ,Charlotte Hill also managed a PB in the 800m for the U12 Girls along with Jessica Golden smashing her PB in the 100m U12s,Anna Nelson showed great improvement in the 800m for the Seniors taking 5 seconds off her previous best mark it was also a clean sweep for the U10s Boys in the A and B races 800mtrs which helped them to their U10 title.
It was a good day for the club with coaches and officials delighted with the performances and attitude from all the athletes especially the ones who stepped in to cover events which they wouldnt normally compete in and adding vital points to team scores,also a big thanks to the parents who traveled to support the team and also help with officiating on the track and field for the club.
