THROWERS SET CHAMPIONSHIP RECORDS AT PETROFAC MEETING

It was an extremely impressive start for the young Inverness Harriers throwers at the 1st Petrofac League meeting with no fewer than 5 Championship records being set in very blustery conditions.First up was Bruce Flockhart in the U18 mens shot putt with a great throw of 12.18 mtrs shortly followed by Alex Geddes who added 2mtrs onto his existing U14 discus record with an impressive throw of 25.74 mtrs next to break a record was the youngest of the Flockhart sisters when Fiona throw a massive 22 mtrs in the U12 girls javelin to add nearly 4 mtrs onto the old record but not to be outdone bigger sister Mary throw a championship best in the U16 ladies javelin with a great throw of 26.65 mtrs and finally George Evans produced a massive throw in the U16 mens discus throwing over 48 mtrs to round off a great day for Duncan Flockharts throws group who just keep getting better and better with every competition,Duncan said after the meeting that he was very happy with all the throwers efforts and not just the record setters who all did extremely well in very tricky windy conditions and hopefully that they can all build on their early seasons success.
