Culbin Forest Run 2008

Wed 28th May from 6:15pm

Just to let the road and cross country runners amongst you know the date for the 2008 Culbin Run. It's Wed 28th May and we're back to the original route (by popular demand). Registration from 6.15 and kids' race at 6.45.

This is our 10th year and, specially for us, the Forestry Commission have built us a big new car park down at Wellhill. They're also about to build us a new toilet block, but even with all these mod cons we're still keeping the cost of entry at £3!

I hope to see the usual big crowd of Inverness Harriers and hopefully we'll get some better weather than last year.

The other runs in the MFR series follow at the usual fortnightly intervals - Roseisle, Quarrelwood and finally Monaughty.

PS - for anyone that might be interested in another kind of run in Culbin, the British Orienteering Champs are happening at the same place as the Culbin Run on Sat 19th April. The organisers are expecting between 1000 and 1500 competitors, and with normal runners in mind, they're offering a course designed for local running clubs (a 'red' colour coded course in orienteering-speak). You can just turn up and enter on the day, but it's best to pre-enter and you can do this by going to www.boc2008.co.uk where you can get all the other info about the event. There are also 'white' and 'yellow' colour coded courses for kids of about 9 upwards, and judging by the success of recent schools events we've held in Forres and Elgin, we think that your younger members might really enjoy trying it.
